Gather Around the Fire
Come, gather around the fire
You've found your way here
Come, gather around the fire
And rest awhile
The restlessness settles
The hollow words dissolve
Something stirs beneath the silence
Older than thought Come, gather around the fire
You've found your way here
Come, gather around the fire
And rest awhile
A world before words
A memory sleeping inside
The part of you that grew small
Is calling out Come, gather around the fire
You've found your way here
Come, gather around the fire
And rest awhile
Every day, the same hour
The same quiet flame
We light the fire together
And find each other Come, gather around the fire
You've found your way here
Come, gather around the fire
And rest awhile
Come, gather around the fire
You've found your way here
Come, gather around the fire
Remember who you are

Candle Meditation
Every evening, I light a candle
and sit with the flame for fifteen minutes.
No thoughts to chase. No goal to reach.
Simply being with the fire.
Light yours at the same hour.
Apart, and yet connected.
樹世   JUSSE
I studied French literature,
then art history in Paris,
and spent ten years living in France —
including summers in Provence every year.
I worked in the art world,
then left everything to go to India to learn meditation.
Afterward, I stayed in Kyoto and wrote a story.
When that story became a picture book,
something became clear.
What had seemed like a scattered life
was always connected by one thread.
I have always been searching
for the moment when a human being
returns to being human.
That is how I arrived here.
